Endless Horizons: A Global Backpacker’s Quest for Adventure, Connection, and Discovery

Tell me a little about yourself.

I’m Paul W. Neville, a lifelong traveler, storyteller, and U.S. Foreign Service Officer currently stationed in the Netherlands. My passion for travel began during a trip to London with my father when I was 17, and it has only grown since. Over the years, I’ve visited more than 120 countries, served in the Peace Corps in Tonga, and worked in various countries as a diplomat. I love exploring vibrant cultures, forging connections, and seeking new adventures, and I aim to inspire others to do the same through my writing.

What made you write this book?

The idea for Endless Horizons came from my desire to share the transformative power of travel. During my yearlong travel around the world after my Peace Corps Service, I kept a journal to document the experiences, people, and places that left a mark on me. I realized that these stories—full of adventure, cultural discovery, and personal growth—could inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace the wonders of global travel. This book is also a tribute to the backpacking community and the incredible connections I’ve made along the way.
