When it comes to God’s personal direction, the Bible has a lot of information hiding in plain sight. God Leads Personally explains why we can still expect God to lead each person individually today. In addition, the author gives a wealth of practical instructions on allowing God to lead you and avoiding deception. The processes described range from dramatic moves of God to quiet but powerful directions. Inspiration for this book came from the author’s own struggle with a business failure. That struggle didn’t produce any special formulas but launched a journey to find real Scriptural answers about how God leads.
Dr. Robert DiSilvestro holds a PhD in biochemistry from Texas A&M University, was a nutrition professor for 34 years, and is currently Professor Emeritus of Human Nutrition at The Ohio State University (that means he is retired, but still doing some research there). When Dr D’s two startup companies both lost money, he wondered if he missed God’s will in starting those companies. So, he applied his researcher mindset to see what the Bible actually says about God leading people. His notes turned into the book God Leads Personally. The book draws on Dr. DiSilvestro’s professional writing background, the seminary classes he took on the side (like New Testament Greek), and his teaching experience in explaining concepts in an understandable way.
