A Test of Faith by Scott Maynard

Dear Readers:

Today's BOOK OF THE DAY, "A Test of Faith" by Scott Maynard is incredible and uplifting. Have you ever lost faith? Have you experienced obstacles, depression, or a major illness? I know I have. One thing I discovered is that God's love is constant and pure and He, alone, can conquer all. That is why I love this book, it speaks of faith and how we are tested. However, it is a wonderful testimony to unnerving faith. I highly recommend it.

Musician Interview - Dyve

           Dear Readers:

I am excited to introduce you to an incredible rapper and singer, Dyve. Below is his interview along with links to his music. Enjoy!

Dyve (pronounced dive)

Rapper / Singer.

Describe your style.

I create a variety of Hip-Hop / R&B music that ranges from pop-tinged funk to hard trap music. I create whatever I am inspired to create.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your style?

A lot of my Hip-Hop influence derives from lyrical artists such as Kanye and J Cole. My lyrics are my life story and I want that story to be told. However, I listen to every genre of music. I feel each genre sparks inspiration for my music writing.

How did you get started in your career?

I sort of fell into my career. I've always had a love for music but never thought that I would be doing it for a living. After showcasing my talent of freestyle rapping at a college party; I got asked if I wanted to make a song with a producer. I didn't care to be a rapper but thought it might be something fun and creative to do. Next thing you know I'm getting asked to do shows with Ying Yang Twins and Lil Dicky. I found a love for performing and creatively expressing my talent.

What struggles or barriers did you face or are you facing to promote yourself and your work?

The hardest struggle with promotion is that the product I'm trying to sell is me. How do you tell everyone about your product, without the appearance of boasting and arrogance, since the product is literally yourself? Not to mention, everyone is always shoving new music in your face in 2022. Should I spam everyone I know and lose that humble relationship? Or does it better my career somehow?

What life lessons have you learned and how have they influenced your style?

The most impactful life lesson I have learned is fighting the urge to fail. I've been pursuing this career for 7 years and only recently started seeing success in my music. You see way too many stories of musicians who release one song and overnight become a success. It builds an unrealistic story in every artist’s head, that they only need to try hard for one song, and then they will be successful. I've seen so many amazing artists give up, because they didn't, "Blow Up" when they thought they were going to. Working on my mental strength and bettering myself has helped influence my music because I write music as an extension of my life. Sometimes you don't realize how deep the hole is you have dug yourself until you climb out of it. I'm always trying to better myself.

Provide an example of your work that I can include in your interview.

"That's My Shit" that was co-signed and promoted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Shanti: Diary of a Guardian Angel by VJ

Shanti: Diary of a Guardian Angel by VJ

Humans languish in the grasp of distraction and of dark notions, as the righteous watch goodness cowers in confrontations with countless waves of morbidity and political turmoil. In the search for life's meaning, they probe the atom and they probe the universe, and they sport a child's fascination with science, which they suspect is the way to prove the existence of our Creator.

Observe the perceptions and activities of a guardian angel, Shanti, and how she sets about helping to keep free will from driving off course the human lifetimes that particular Souls were meant to live. A wisp of influence or direct intervention, or perhaps a hands-off approach to Souls living out insurmountable failure, on Earth; some are simply destined to fail. View through the eyes of an accomplished Soul the inner workings of spiritual guardianship, from love at first sight to the grief caused by the death of loved ones, from Souls who will graduate from Earth to those who are trapped in its turmoil for their lack of self-control; what would a guardian angel say about Earth and the humans?

The path to enlightenment begins with your knowledge of Earth's purpose, and from the ability to act upon that knowledge to manage and enhance the grace and the righteousness of your human experience. Embrace challenges, and accept as the Creator's will those occurrences which seem to get the best of you. Avoid the negative and the unwholesome as best you can, in today's world. Help yourself by helping others; make the world a better place.

"This is a masterful analysis of suffering, its causes, and its cure. It is richly illustrated with stories, stories that are either true or could be true, and that reflect actual realities human beings have been living in extreme personal life situations all over the world. The book overflows with a love for high morals and ethics, and a likewise intense and well-deserved disdain for corrupt and degraded social trends. It is strong and colorful, written from religious universality and true spiritual passion, with a sincere and total dedication to enlightenment, transformative educational reform, and to planetary upliftment."

Roman's Reckoning: Type 6: Part 1 by Lucas Lamont (Author)

Dear Readers:

Today's BOOK OF THE DAY, "Roman's Reckoning: Type 6" by Lucas Lamont is well-worth the read for various reasons. However, it comes with a strong content warning and it isn't for everyone. With that said, the book is very well-written with engaging characters and a plot that stands on its own. The genre is in the Omegaverse, meaning a subgenre of speculative erotic fiction, thus the content warning. This doesn't mean that book isn't worth reading. In fact, it needs to be especially by science fiction dystopian futuristic readers who love great plots and characters. You see, Lamont crafted an exceptional masterpiece that shouldn't be honed in. The characters carry the story and are so believable it is hard to imagine this novel not being in the Omegaverse subgenre. It is fitting and exceptionally crafted. Take a look.

Roman's Reckoning: Type 6: Part 1

Can a Type 6 Alpha defeat the odds and find his fated mate?

Roman Erricson, a 24-year-old Type 6 Alpha, is one of the rarest humans on earth, possessing coveted strength, looks, intelligence, and notoriety. Attempting to live a normal life, Roman reluctantly agrees to an arranged mating contract with Peyton, a 20-year-old Type 5 Omega. But Peyton isn't just anybody. He is the son of one of the richest and most powerful Alphas in the city-Matthew Whitmore. Proudly wearing the badge of the ultimate businessman, Matthew always gets what he wants.

When Fate turns Roman's life upside down through a chance encounter with a 17-year-old Omega named Mikaél, everyone involved with the Erricson family suffers the fallout. As Roman's carefully built life begins to unravel with each new revelation, three scientists race to unlock the truth of Roman's existence and discover how Mikaél may be the key to everything.

This story is complete with budding relationships, continuous reveals, hot/steamy scenes, knotting, mpreg, a layer of science theory, a twist ending to a partial HEA, and a cliffhanger to a planned sequel.

I loved this book it was amazing! Well written, great storyline, and a great imagination put this story together. I screamed when I finished reading the last page, I was not ready for the story to end, and to have to wait until the next book comes out, which only frustrated me more.

The story is about finding one's mate or settling for second or third best. Despite good intentions, the story reflects the ineptitude of parents' ability to know what is best for their children.

The intricate weaving of the story keeps one glued to the book, never wanting to put the book down, many times having you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Roman is a twenty-four-year-old male, in a world of only men. Disease had spread across the world, killing all women and transforming men to have the ability to produce children. Roman has searched for years never finding his mate.

Peyton is the son of a wealthy father, who would like nothing more than to have Roman breed with his son.

Mikael is young and had a previously bad relationship and is in no hurry to get into another one.

But the lives of all three of them intertwined. Who will still be standing when the dust settles?

In a world full of competing interests and intersecting life journeys, we find ourselves following Roman, an exceptionally gifted Type 6 Alpha as he navigates an angst-filled existence looking for his fated mate. Throughout this book, you can visualize the intricate settings and feel each character's emotional states as though you're watching it unfold right before your eyes.

Although this is the only book I've ever read in the ever-expanding Omegaverse, the author does an excellent job introducing the reader to the genre by providing detailed historical aspects throughout. From a literary standpoint, this is a very well-developed publication from a first-time author. If you like books that have in-depth character development, unforeseen twists and turns, and dialogue that at times almost reads like a well-written screenplay, then this book is for you.

Lucas LaMont lives near the mountains of Colorado and has been a storyteller since childhood. Throughout the years, he has dabbled in fiction and poetry and in his adult writing, most of his focus has been in gay fiction. Recently, he discovered the Omegaverse genre and is obsessed with it! During the Covid pandemic, he found his favorite series to read: The Adrien English Mysteries by Josh Lanyon (But he is very much a fan of several noteworthy Omegaverse authors). When he’s not writing and reading, Lucas loves traveling to fabulous Las Vegas to gamble or staying near the rustic lakes of Minnesota to go fishing. His current focus has been the creation of Boy Love Visual Novels, starting with his first one Fated: Type 6. The goal of his writing has always been to focus on the power of relationships and the journey they take. You can find Lucas Lamont on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Wix.
