Daniel is in over his head and he finds that in Latin American culture, nothing is as it seems. The clock ticks as he tries to stop the assassin. Daniel provides an in-depth critical analysis of the international education scene and expatriate culture abroad. Moreover, he exposes the huge loopholes and corruption that plague the international college admissions process, including trusted U.S. admission directors. Daniel reveals that the dark world of corruption within college admissions.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR




I was born and raised in Canada. I studied at St. Meinrad College, St. Meinrad School of Theology and the Toronto School of Theology where I attained a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, a B.S. in Theology, M.A. in Theology and a Master in Divinity. I am a former missionary. I have served in the roles of hospital and high school chaplain in Canada. I taught in the American school system in Guatemala for seven years and for the past 20 years, I have also served as a college admission consultant in Guatemala which offers college counseling, admission test prep, and admission essay editing. I have two beautiful daughters.

While this book does an excellent job in identifying why respect is essential to productive teamwork, it goes much beyond that endeavor in providing critical best practices for optimal management of an enterprise. I loved that this book skipped the tired business cliches and delivered lots of practical examples of how to motivate others and become a more effective leader. There are interviews with top executives that give real-world examples that are very helpful- like how to listen and communicate with people in your organization to help everyone achieve success. It honestly reminded me of the best business classes I ever took--interesting, inspiring and best of all, USEFUL.

It is refreshing to see someone provide business leaders a highly achievable roadmap to sustained success. Many leaders fail to appreciate that how results are obtained is as important as the fact that you are successful in the first place. On a daily basis, understanding your emotions and how they impact you and your ability to get things done is an overlooked aspect of success. In terms of communication and listening, far to often leaders ask their people to do things that are extremely difficult or to change without conveying the underlying reasons driving the request and listening to the feedback about how it affects the organization. If you understand and follow the RESPECT principles you will find that your team and organization are more united, more motivated and ready to support the challenges that you will confront.

Charles Leichtweis does an outstanding job of relating many aspects of business that are taken for granted.
His book is a must read for all new executives that goes into details about what to expect and how to handle various aspects of day to day business issues. Appreciated his experiences and the many executives that he interviewed to describe how they approached and answered day to day problems in their own companies.

The book provides both tools and examples based on genuine experiences, regarding the importance of respect in the workplace. It's relevance stretches from the shop floor to the board room, as well as, in everyday life. Charlie Leichtweis does a good job of emphasizing the importance of respect, especially with his experiences and the anecdotes of various executives, but I felt like Charlie himself had more to tell. It is a reminder of how important it is for leaders of organizations to lead by example, especially in today's world of immediate results expectations and social media pressure. It's a quick read, with useful insights.
