DR. MEL'S MESSAGE - From my novels to my other projects, no telling what you will read. This is the only place you will get to read about how I developed a screenplay into a novel and what is the driving force. I will talk about many things from films to books to acting to producing. It really will depend on where my mind takes me. I hope you will join me on this journey.
Let me say, I am a person who has struggled with anxiety for most of my life. I have also been told I have ocd tendencies. And as someone who has spent many a day thinking about how crazy I must be and how crazy the world must think me, this really hit home.
But above that, the writing style was thoroughly engaging. It’s like you sat down and Nia just told you about her day. It’s very easy and enjoyable to read.
This book is a page-turner. Nia is guarded and keeps two interested men in her life guessing, which I found a bit shocking. But I couldn't put the book down until I found out which man she picked and if it all worked out. Nia is definitely not your standard female protagonist. The way she describes her challenges with obsessive-compulsive disorder made me realize that she felt unable to approach life head on because she could not accept herself as a person with a disability. I won't spoil it for readers by revealing whether she does or not by the end, but suffice it to say this novel was both well-written and engrossing.
This subject matter may not be suitable for everyone. This is my memoir on my early upbringing into early adulthood. I will talk about my firsthand experiences of being assaulted as a small child and the long-term effects it had on my overall mental health. This book also references real people. All names have been changed. I wanted to take a conversational approach with this and have it feel like a living journal. At times it will feel abrasive and jarring; I wanted to highlight how my weird brain thinks.
Obamasaurus is a fictional political satire relaunched with a new twist formerly published as the 2013 Irwin Award-winning short story, Obamacare, Dinosaurs, Rednecks & Radicals. This political satire is written to remind free people who believe they were created by God and those who wonder if it’s possible that a few evil men and women could conspire to wipe out humanity by 90%. Is it possible that wealthy people who join secret societies conspire to manipulate each person’s God-given DNA in order to hook up human bodies and minds to the internet? Could every survivor be controlled by AI and turned into mindless zombies who don’t procreate or think for themselves? Imagine mindless people walking around with erased memories or without emotions. This would be the end of freedom for humanity if Artificial Intelligence had the capacity to control our minds.
It isn't often that I can read a book and find myself laughing out loud. Today's BOOK OF THE DAY, The God Particle (The Hercules Leek series), by Liam Stirling put a smile on my face and bold laughter. The more of the book you read, the more you don't want to put it down because of the entertaining factor of the book. It might sound weird that a book that addresses religion, philosophy, and science is funNY, but this one is. This book will keep you hooked until the very last word. Order your copy today, and ENJOY!
A wickedly funny demon, hell-bent on destroying Creation. One man can stop him. Only, he's dead.
Hercules Leek is cycling to work when he is crushed under the wheels of a turning lorry. As an atheistic agnostic, it is something of a surprise that he should then find himself in Heaven. The forgiving nature of the Creator means that most souls make the upwards journey, so Heaven is a busy place. The administration has overseen a range of technical upgrades. Of course, Tablets have been around since Moses' time, but now these are all wirelessly connected to Heaven's super-computer - the Cloud. With its burgeoning population, everyone in Heaven has a job to do. Hercules finds himself allocated to the IT Department. It is here that his adventures really begin…
The God Particle is a seriously funny book. It will make you laugh, but it will also make you think.
Nobody has a monopoly on the truth... but nobody has a monopoly on stupidity either!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Once upon a time, Liam was a zoologist - a scientist who studies animals, not to be confused with a zookeeper, although he has also been one of them in his time, too. Somehow, from there, he tumbled into a career in IT (via the less than straightforward route of a couple of years playing sax in the horn section of a reggae band). It's a long story.
