Dear Readers:

Today's BOOK OF THE DAY, "Roman's Reckoning: Type 6" by Lucas Lamont is well-worth the read for various reasons. However, it comes with a strong content warning and it isn't for everyone. With that said, the book is very well-written with engaging characters and a plot that stands on its own. The genre is in the Omegaverse, meaning a subgenre of speculative erotic fiction, thus the content warning. This doesn't mean that book isn't worth reading. In fact, it needs to be especially by science fiction dystopian futuristic readers who love great plots and characters. You see, Lamont crafted an exceptional masterpiece that shouldn't be honed in. The characters carry the story and are so believable it is hard to imagine this novel not being in the Omegaverse subgenre. It is fitting and exceptionally crafted. Take a look.

Roman's Reckoning: Type 6: Part 1

Can a Type 6 Alpha defeat the odds and find his fated mate?

Roman Erricson, a 24-year-old Type 6 Alpha, is one of the rarest humans on earth, possessing coveted strength, looks, intelligence, and notoriety. Attempting to live a normal life, Roman reluctantly agrees to an arranged mating contract with Peyton, a 20-year-old Type 5 Omega. But Peyton isn't just anybody. He is the son of one of the richest and most powerful Alphas in the city-Matthew Whitmore. Proudly wearing the badge of the ultimate businessman, Matthew always gets what he wants.

Always.

When Fate turns Roman's life upside down through a chance encounter with a 17-year-old Omega named Mikaél, everyone involved with the Erricson family suffers the fallout. As Roman's carefully built life begins to unravel with each new revelation, three scientists race to unlock the truth of Roman's existence and discover how Mikaél may be the key to everything.

I loved this book it was amazing! Well written, great storyline, and a great imagination put this story together. I screamed when I finished reading the last page, I was not ready for the story to end, and to have to wait until the next book comes out, which only frustrated me more.

The story is about finding one's mate or settling for second or third best. Despite good intentions, the story reflects the ineptitude of parents' ability to know what is best for their children.

The intricate weaving of the story keeps one glued to the book, never wanting to put the book down, many times having you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Roman is a twenty-four-year-old male, in a world of only men. Disease had spread across the world, killing all women and transforming men to have the ability to produce children. Roman has searched for years never finding his mate.

Peyton is the son of a wealthy father, who would like nothing more than to have Roman breed with his son.

Mikael is young and had a previously bad relationship and is in no hurry to get into another one.

But the lives of all three of them intertwined. Who will still be standing when the dust settles?

In a world full of competing interests and intersecting life journeys, we find ourselves following Roman, an exceptionally gifted Type 6 Alpha as he navigates an angst-filled existence looking for his fated mate. Throughout this book, you can visualize the intricate settings and feel each character's emotional states as though you're watching it unfold right before your eyes.

Although this is the only book I've ever read in the ever-expanding Omegaverse, the author does an excellent job introducing the reader to the genre by providing detailed historical aspects throughout. From a literary standpoint, this is a very well-developed publication from a first-time author. If you like books that have in-depth character development, unforeseen twists and turns, and dialogue that at times almost reads like a well-written screenplay, then this book is for you.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lucas LaMont lives near the mountains of Colorado and has been a storyteller since childhood. Throughout the years, he has dabbled in fiction and poetry and in his adult writing, most of his focus has been in gay fiction. Recently, he discovered the Omegaverse genre and is obsessed with it! During the Covid pandemic, he found his favorite series to read: The Adrien English Mysteries by Josh Lanyon (But he is very much a fan of several noteworthy Omegaverse authors). When he’s not writing and reading, Lucas loves traveling to fabulous Las Vegas to gamble or staying near the rustic lakes of Minnesota to go fishing. His current focus has been the creation of Boy Love Visual Novels, starting with his first one Fated: Type 6. The goal of his writing has always been to focus on the power of relationships and the journey they take. You can find Lucas Lamont on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Wix.
