Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school, etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

I moved a few times as a child between Oregon and Connecticut, where I currently live. I went to the University of CT for a BA in economics. So it’s a little off-brand that until my 40s, I was a martial artist, and I currently enjoy ATVing, writing comedy and games, and songwriting.

What inspired you to author this book?

While kickboxing and/or ATVing, I got a crack on the head - probably two - that allowed my creative juices to start oozing. Now, I'm swimming in comedy, poetry, pencil puzzles, word searches, and songwriting.

My audiobook is available only on my website, where people can also find my music.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?

One of the stories in “Just Some BS” was about hair extensions that didn’t work out. Hoped they’d attract attention from the size of my tush, but the install was a fail, so I left them on the bed.

My husband saw them and asked, “What’s with the clown hair?” Thus, the kaleidoscope of my tortured attachment attempts.

As for jacket colors, red inspires excitement, and green means go. Both stand out online and make me smile.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

I find inspiration everywhere - nature, people, animals, a seven-layer sangria...I can’t even begin to whittle it down.

What were the struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

Nothing terribly personal, just audio recording equipment hassles. Which I now realize may have led to more hair loss than the extensions fiasco.

Tell your readers about your book.

“Just Some Bullshit, Year Ten of My Midlife Crisis” is a mildly horrifying look at my adulting about-face that’s been heralded as “…pretty darned okay.”

It’s a stockpile of heavy dimbulb-ery, a tiny twisted catalog of erratic thoughts I’ve tried my darn-dest to keep to myself this past decade or so.

As a big fan of nature, eating, complaining, and off-road ATVing, I feel driven to share my distractions.

I also aim to make up for the many times I’ve failed at being intelligent-adjacent, and instead sounded like a unicorn trainer choking on glitter.

Try not to gag on this mockumentary about me talking to my various personalities. My cats, the television, birds, butterflies and bees, and slackers, cutters and peepers.

Bonus! My housekeeping tips will make you roll your eyes so high it’ll tighten your skin better than a facelift.

And make you think twice about being domestic.

“Just Some BS” is neither deep nor dreary…it’s a fun chuckle meant to put you in a kick-butt, dust-bunny-conquering mood!

Who is your target audience, and why?

First, women aged 39 and up. Your crisis is coming! And I have no answers.

Next, brainiacs who like pencil puzzles.

And, anyone who likes rock and alternative music, and to laugh.

What do you consider your greatest success in life?

My personal life - a balanced relationship with family, a welcoming home and garden, good health, adaptability, and a boxed wine wall.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?

Audiobooks I’ve listened to labeled ‘comedy’ often seem to run a bit more on the serious side that I expected. For listeners who truly want to relax their frazzled brains and work on their 2-pack abs with a healthy giggle, “Just Some BS” paired with THC truffles is the ticket.
