My Style is a cross
between gospel and pop. My genre is Christian.
Who
or what has been your greatest influence on your style?
I
grew up listening to Whitney Houston, Back Street Boys and Kirk Franklin. Along
the way, I fell in love with Hillsong, which was my introduction to pop and
rock. Hence the eclectic blend I have going with my music.
How
did you get started in your career?
I
have been singing for as long as I can remember and leading worship in Church.
I initially released my first album in 2010 and took a long hiatus until 2020.
Covid gave me a lot of time on my hands, and I plunged back into avid
songwriting and decided to relaunch my career as an Artist as music is my
passion.
What
struggles or barriers did you face or are you facing to promote yourself and
your work?
I
believe that one of my major struggles is being an independent artist. Making
and promoting music costs a lot of money, so I need to fund it. I am a
Consultant and Executive Coach by day, as well as a wife and mother. Balancing
all of these as well as giving my career as an Artist the attention and
exposure it deserves, is a constant challenge.
What
life lessons have you learned and how have they influenced your style?
I
have had the unfortunate experience of losing both my parents and some of my
siblings as a child and young adult. Thus the fragility of life is a real
experience for me. Therefore I am heavily focused on living purposefully,
cherishing my relationship with God, family and people because we aren't here
for an infinite amount of time.
