I grew up in
Washington, MO and grew up with the town. When I was a child the town boasted
of having a Walmart and now the town is full of popular stores while
maintaining its small town riverfront charm. I am the oldest of three, went to
Catholic school, and went to college to become a high school history teacher. I
have 3 kids of my own. My husband and I are high school sweet hearts. And I
teach world history and write for a living. I love books, movies, hiking,
camping, and spending time with family and friends. My imagination has always
been overactive and I am passionate about fighting for the underdog and making
the world a better place.
What
inspired you to author this book?
I have always wanted to be a writer. I have been inspired by the ever popular
J.R.R. Tolkien, Pierce Brown, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, and Nora Roberts. But
what really inspired me to write and finish a book were my own children and
students. I always encourage my children to go for their dreams. I teach
seniors and encourage them to live life to the fullest, and express that if you
live your dream you will be happy, even if you aren’t a millionaire, because
each day will feel fulfilling. So… I finally decided to take the advice I was giving
out.
Where
did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?
My
book is about bringing light to a dark world. It is a suspenseful book with a
positive vibe. My daughter is an aspiring artist and she created it from my
description of the book.

Who
has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

Being
a mom of 3, teacher, wife, daughter, and sister made writing this book a
challenge. But as my husband put ever so gently, I needed a hobby. I needed
something fully my own that I could enjoy. So here it is. A work truly from the
heart.

My
book is a book from the heart. It encompasses everything I love about my
favorite books: thrilling suspense, humor, love, sassy women, strong
personalities, humorous men, wise teachers, friendship, a dark bad guy, and a
deeper meaning. It provides content to encourage discussion.

My target audience is anyone over the age of 18 who enjoys a good story with depth
and elements of multiple genres. Anyone who likes mystery, suspense, a
surprising twist, speculative fiction, and commercial fiction will love this

What
do you consider your greatest success in life?
My
greatest success is my life…each mistake and success has brought me where I am
today and I wouldn’t change it for anything! Everything in my life is still
evolving and always will be. My family is my greatest source of pride and
success. Nothing beats family. It’s forever.
What
one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?
The
thing that sets me apart is that I write combining multiple genres and have a
unique outlook on events. I am a history teacher and have spent a lot of time
studying the stories of mankind. I bring the element of the past together with
those of the present. My book reveals the value of our past and how unique each
person’s past is. I also write from the heart so what you see is what you get.
I don’t know how to write or be any other way. That’s one of my themes in the
book as well.
