ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Nicos Rossides is a seasoned CEO, respected management consultant, and startup coach. His career spans academia as well as industry, where he has held leadership roles in global corporations, marketing insights agencies, and academic incubators. He is recognized for his expertise in combining academic rigor with managerial relevance and for setting up successful entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. Rossides co-owns MASMI Research Group, a marketing insights agency with a network of offices across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East. He also co-founded DMR, a digital marketing insights agency based in London, and currently serves as the Chairman of its Advisory Board. As the CEO of CREF Business Ventures, an incubator associated with The Cyprus Institute, Dr. Rossides mentors and guides founders of academic spinoffs, assisting them in crafting and implementing effective go-to-market strategies. Dr. Rossides has a long history in senior management roles. He honed his leadership skills at several global organizations, including Medochemie, a global pharmaceutical company, and Synovate, a top-four global marketing insights firm, where he served as CEO for EMEA & Global Solutions. Earlier, his extended tenure as MEMRB International’s CEO spanned nearly two decades before it was acquired by Synovate. He started his academic journey in the United States as a Fulbright scholar, earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He then attended Japan's prestigious Kyoto University, where he received his Doctor of Engineering degree in Urban Planning, and continued in postdoctoral and teaching capacities. After transitioning to his professional career, he engaged deeply in marketing insights, a career that spanned over 25 years. Before assuming his first international CEO role, he received his senior management training at MIT's Sloan School. Dr. Rossides' most recent books are “The Future of Work: Managing in the Age of AI,” Eureka to Market: A Guide for Academic Startups,” and "Engaging the Workforce: The Grand Management Challenge of the 21st Century," published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis in 2023. This work offers a unique perspective on the modern challenges of management, especially focused on effective engagement strategies. He has also authored "Exploring Japanese Culture: Not Inscrutable After All" (Matador, 2020).
Dr. Rossides is currently visiting professor of management at Minjiang University in China.
