DR. MEL'S MESSAGE - From my novels to my other projects, no telling what you will read. This is the only place you will get to read about how I developed a screenplay into a novel and what is the driving force. I will talk about many things from films to books to acting to producing. It really will depend on where my mind takes me. I hope you will join me on this journey.
Act it and you will become it! Yes, we can create what we want with imagination and intention. The movie themes the world loves are few and simple; they are the themes that have been portrayed over and over ever since Hollywood began to make movies. These classics have the most wonderful endings: love overcomes all, good wins over evil, the wayward child comes home, anyone can be a hero, and we all have a guardian angel.
Hollywood Endings is about self-awareness, recovery and enlightenment. It's for anyone who has ever wanted or dreamed of having a "Hollywood ending". It is for those of us who never had a role model to show us how it's done. It celebrates the wonder of the movies and urges us to see movies once to be entertained, then return to to see them again to learn from them. We all deserve a Hollywood ending and here's how we can earn one.
This book shows you how with life lessons from Dances With Wolves, National Velvet, Die Hard and The Color Purple to name just a few.
Rewrite your own story and give it a Hollywood ending. "...innovative and stimulating...a source of inspiration for self-discovery, healing and growth." Birgit Wolz, Ph.D., Individual and Family therapist, www.cinematherapy.com.
I was raised in an unstable single parent family and had to learn early how to be self-reliant. I am a bodily/kinesthetic learner and struggled in school. I wasn't a behavior problem, so I slipped through the educational cracks. Early trauma caused an eating disorder that I still struggle with today. I did finally come alive through summer camp, learning skills by doing! I found stability and a passion for logic and justice through a career in law enforcement. I learned about the Feldenkrais Method® because of chronic pain and still use it today for pain management. I now use "the movies" plus the principles of The Feldenkrais Method (awareness, imagination and intention) to accomplish things I am interested in (and willing to work for). It's a process and like most people, I am putting one foot in front of the other. I invite you to join me.
