Now, let's get to know the author.

  1. Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.
I grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and spent most summers going to Savannah Georgia. Born in 1978, I grew up creating short stories ever since I could talk. Out of all the writing types, I enjoy writing fantasy fiction mostly. I love all styles of art from music to photography.

At the age of four, I taught myself how to play drums and at age fourteen the guitar and began writing songs. When I'm not writing or playing music, I enjoy spending time with my family and helping my wife homeschool our sons. My wife and I share our home in Georgia with our three entertaining sons.

  2. What inspired you to author this book?
Before I started writing this novel series, I originally was working on a video game concept for my friends who are computer programmers. Which in return got my mind into a creative mode and one thing led to another and this story came to me. I wrote everything down and now I have a novel series.

  3. Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?
For a few years, I had a different cover and was only going to write one book. After doing a lot of research about book covers and writing in general, I chose to turn the book into a series. So, the book cover I had became the cover for a later volume. I wanted to keep the same style throughout the series, so for book one, I changed the background to have something that represented light being infected with darkness and darkness being infected with light. The artwork is actually a photograph I took of a tree reflecting in the water at Amicalola Falls, Georgia. I adjusted the color to a purple and got a cool effect and went with it.

  4. Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?
Hands down, Betty Edwards. I read her book titled Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. She has exercises in that book that gets you into your creative side so quickly that if you practice them you will learn to create and not stare at a blank page. The exercises apply too much more than drawing. That book taught me how to see.
  5. What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?
The only part of writing this book I did not have a struggle with was actually the creative concepts. Everything else like making time to write, formatting, having a job, you name it, and it was a struggle.
  6. Tell your readers about your book.
Curse of Crowns is based on the unfolding of The War On All Shores Series, set in the fictional worlds of Vargha and Argon. In the first volume, dreams are not what they seem. Nobles struggle to control the currency. Behind it all, an ominous evil lurks and a new era of vicious kings and queens is birthed.
Kings Transcend is the first book in the series and packs an adventure with new worlds, new fantasy creatures, and a twisting plot. Though it ends with a cliff hanger, there is a sneak peek into the second volume titled, Blood You Will Taste.

Although I hope that anyone who picks up a copy will enjoy it, my target audiences are teens and Young adults. Because of the violence and description of certain characters, some scenes may frighten younger audiences.
