Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?
My hobbies are writing online on various blogging platforms, PC and mobile games, music, reading books, and TV (great fan of the show Masterchef Australia).
Over the years, I have
been blogging on various online platforms. I have been a ghost writer for
various health, cooking, and medical websites.
My passion for writing made me wait up for long sleepless nights which made me prone few health disorders such as reflux disease (GERD - Gastro Esophagial Reflux Disease) and back pain. Couldn't do much except few exercises and postural corrections for back pain. But the reflux, on the other hand, was quite bothersome. I cannot sleep properly if I don't take my medication every day. It was very disheartening for me because I know there will be some adverse side effects in the future because of this GERD is a chronic condition with just symptomatic relief.
Then the first time I heard about probiotics and their various uses. As a nutritionist, I was very skeptical about their effects. So, I thought I would give a try to check how they can help in for my reflux disease. I didn't use any supplements for this. I used only fermented foods such as tempeh, kefir, and a few others. During the initial days, I couldn't find any difference and sometimes I even felt that my condition became worse. But I kept myself telling that there will be obvious side effects or spikes in symptoms when you are undergoing certain treatment regimes. I never gave up my probiotic-rich food regime. Surprisingly, my reflux came down and I got rid of my medications (of course not in an instant). Now I am very happy and I can go on without medication for days. I added more types of fermented foods and also added prebiotics to my diet which have added values.
My personal experience made me explore more about probiotics and learn how they create a huge impact on our lives. I have read many scientific journals, research publications citing the results and case studies of probiotics. I was really amazed at how they can have a significant impact on our lifestyle.
Probiotics are highly popular in western countries, especially in the USA. But there is very little to no knowledge about them in the third world. This made me feel that I should definitely create awareness about probiotics and healthy gut microbiome. Initially, I thought of creating a website (which I did) but in this competitive world, I must invest more time and money on making my website visible in this great ocean of websites. Since I couldn’t do these technical tweaks I’ve sold my website and concentrated on writing this eBook and ta da….here is my book.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?
The first inspiration for
me is the food I took to cure my reflux. There are many varieties of fermented
foods that helped me fight my disorder. Along with probiotic-rich food,
prebiotics also helped me stay healthy.
These foods are healthy and very beautiful looking too. I feel that the food you eat must look appealing and fortunately, all the fermented foods I took, and the prebiotics are very attractive and are tasty too.
The primary objective of the book is to include certain foods that are rich in various kinds of probiotics that may heal your condition (if you have). There are many probiotic species that have different types of advantages and all of them are not available in one single type of food. You can take probiotic supplements if you like, there is no harm in it but I believe that the natural food you take is a long term and a continuous source of probiotics. This inspired me to design the cover of my book with natural foods rich in probiotics and prebiotics.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally
and as a writer?
My wife has a significant impact on me to write this book. She was a constant supporter and motivated me to put my experiences on paper. I can't thank you enough.
One of my dearest friends Jai Harvey Yin from Australia also helped me a lot to make this task possible. Lots of love, Jai!!

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get
this book written?
One of the biggest
struggles is putting my experience into words. There were mixed emotions and
also lot of data to process. I was a bit confused about where to begin because
I cannot directly dwell on the topic of how probiotics can help. There was lot
of research too; I need to cite medical references and also review all the
research journals which signify the importance of probiotics.
Then I put myself in the shoes of a reader and gave a thought process. I outlined the contents to be included in the book and made sure I start with basics, including a bit of history. I never mentioned how the healthy gut microbiome helped me in healing my conditions because it will create a feeling that I am advertising myself and the book itself. So, I made sure I included every bit of use that probiotics can help and made sure I did not give examples of mine.

Tell your readers about your book.
This is a wonderful book
if you are looking for information about probiotics. It gives you details of
various uses of probiotics and also about different species that have their
benefits. You can even learn how these probiotics will form an inseparable bond
with the brain since childhood.
There is also a recipe section that will help you make various types of probiotic-rich fermented foods. At the end, for those who cannot make these fermented recipes, you will find some of the best supplements that are available out there in the market.

Who is your target audience, and why?
There is no specific
target audience for me because health is a universal right for everyone. All of
us must be healthy and happy. But I will be very happy, if my book reaches
people who are not aware of probiotics and their benefits, especially in my
country, India.
What do you consider your greatest success in life?
Although there are many, I
would consider publishing my first book on Amazon is one of the greatest successes
in my life. It took me months of work, a lot of editing and I consider that my
role expanded much more. I am thinking to release a few more books which will
be a continuation of my first eBook and I guess that will be furthermore my
success.
What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your
genre?
My book is simple to read,
compact, full of information, and I made sure it is not too lengthy. I do not
publicize or advertise myself or any other brand/product in my book. The links
in this book are medical and scientific references, and few of the products are
information purposes only.
I made sure that everything in this book is informative and provides insights about gut microbiome. Read for yourself; you will find out.
