DR. MEL'S MESSAGE - From my novels to my other projects, no telling what you will read. This is the only place you will get to read about how I developed a screenplay into a novel and what is the driving force. I will talk about many things from films to books to acting to producing. It really will depend on where my mind takes me. I hope you will join me on this journey.
David Livingstone an Iraqi combat veteran plagued with nightmares is trying to get away from the stresses of life. At the orders of his psychiatrist, David decides to go on a road trip. Hoping a quiet place will help him overcome his PTSD, he takes a walk in the countryside. Where down a winding path he happens upon an old Victorian-style mansion. Immediately he falls in love with the old place, but the people in the nearby town say the house is haunted. David does not believe in such things; he believes only living enemies can harm you. However, not long after purchasing the house, strange things start happening to him. He starts hearing voices and having visions of things he left buried in the sands of Iraq. Are these voices emerging from somewhere in the dark corridors that fill the house or the dark corridors that fill his mind? As David begins to dig through the memories in his mind and the history of the house. The line between dream and reality begins to blur. Are these just memories and nightmares brought on by PTSD or is there something more sinister at work?
This book was written in a way to keep the reader wondering and wanting to keep reading. Very well written. Can’t wait for the next one! I literally read it in 1 sitting.
