Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

I was born and raised in a small town call Phoenix, LA. I attended the local public schools. I am a proud Spartan of Phoenix High School, class of 1998. I'm from a larger family, seven brothers, and two sisters.
I pursued my law enforcement career as a correctional officer right after graduating from high school. Unfortunately, I had to relocate after Katrina in 2005. This was a life-changing event for me. Starting entirely over and building my life and career.
I currently live in Albany, LA. and employed with the Hammond Police Department as a police officer. I have six children.
What inspired you to author this book?

I want to inspire kids to understand the significance of education. To encourage kids of all ages and help build their self-confidence so they can grow up into successful adults.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book cover?

My inspiration came from the obstacles we may face daily within ourselves, which prevents us from overcoming difficulties. When we break through negative thoughts and difficulties, we can achieve our goals.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

My fiancĂ©e Krystal is my most significant influence. She has been very supportive of all my crazy ideas, encouraging me to keep pushing. Sometimes, I feel God sent her in my mother’s place to keep me from not giving up.

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

I struggled with self-doubt, not knowing where to begin; will it reach the targeted audience. It was also challenging to find the time to focus on my writing due to my full-time job.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?

I believe what sets me apart from other writers is I write about life using a fictional character anyone can relate to.
