ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I actually grew up in several states because my family moved a lot for work. I currently live with my husband of 45 years now, and we live in the house he grew up in. I was born in the Southern Appalachian mountains of West Virginia in a small community called SkyGusty.
The inspiration for publishing this book was God and my husband. I had written hundreds of communion meditations over the years for my husband Randy, who was an elder and teacher in our congregation. One day I was cleaning out some folders on my computer and came across a few that you will find in the book. Randy said I should try to share them.
Inspiration for book cover: I wanted a golden look for the cover because I know Gold is valuable and God's Word is worth more than all the gold in the world. The picture was decided because of the emblems representing the Communion Meal.
Who influenced me personally: A dear friend from my early Christian days. Minta Hardman was our minister's wife and she could light up a room with her presence. She was the most caring. thoughtful servant of the Lord's Church I have ever met. We became close friends and though she was younger than I, she taught me how to serve and I have been doing that for forty plus years. She is still amazing.
Influence in writing: Max Lucado. I have read his books and they resonate with the way I feel. He leads his readers with simplicity as he delves into and expresses deep thought provoking principles. He is inspirational to me.
My struggles or obstacles to get this book written: Since most of the book contains meditations and thoughts I have written over the years while teaching...the hardest part for me was gathering enough finances to have it published.
Content of My Book: It is common signs, words, and thoughts that I hope will help the Christian relate to and comprehend the sacrifice of the Lord on their behalf. Especially when they participate in the Communion Worship Service. It is such a wonderful occasion when a believer can commune with Christ in this way...very personal.

My target audience: Christians and Seekers of the truth.
Why should they buy it: Because it is practical with common and sensible words that people can relate to, especially when the book is used to lead believers into the celebration of the communion participation.
My greatest success in life: My three wonderful children and the lives they lead. My children grew into caring, thoughtful adults. They are so diverse in their personalities yet I get to witness the positive impact that they each have with others. They make a mother proud.
What unique thing sets me apart: I consider myself a layman, a servant. My thoughts are not lofty or meant to impress a scholar, only to encourage my reader, to strive to be a better person.
What advice to new authors: READ, READ and READ. Write about something that affects you and share it. We are all in this boat together and we all can paddle.
Anything to Share: I pray that if you find yourself reading my little book, it will lift you up higher. By the Way I will.
