Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

I'm a dedicated wife, mother of three, and reside in Chicago, IL. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, and photography, as well as traveling and exploring new places. I'm passionate about promoting body positivity, self-love, and self-esteem for women and girls, which stems from my own story of loss and a journey of personal discovery. Through my advocacy, I hope others embrace their true selves and live their best lives.

What inspired you to author this book?

In 2018, my Father passed away, and I found myself facing some of the toughest moments in my life. My hope began to falter, and I had many painful questions for God. Growing up, my father and I were very close. However, one night he visited me in a dream and told me to stay positive and never lose hope. This message has carried me through – a message I hope can help others through their own darkest days and harshest trials.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?

My husband was the one who helped inspire the design of my book cover. I aimed for it to mirror the essence of my book and evoke the feeling of hope. I desired a cover that is bright, impactful, and aesthetically pleasing to reflect the experience of having hope.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

My dad has been the most significant influence in my life. We had a special bond, and he taught me so many important things that have shaped who I am today. But when he passed away suddenly in 2018, I was crushed. It was one of the toughest moments of my life, and I still miss him dearly. However, I am grateful for the time we spent together and the memories we created. When I turned to God with my pain and struggles, I felt a sense of peace and healing in my heart. My dad will always be a part of who I am, and I am forever grateful for the impact he had on my life. I know my dad is now in a better place, looking down on me from Heaven.

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

Throughout my writing journey, I've faced several challenges and obstacles, one of which was rushing the process instead of embracing it. However, I've learned to be more mindful and present during both the writing and editing stages. As a result, I'm proud to have become a self-published author and even started my own publishing company, Tina Loves Tales. I'm excited to see where my passion for writing will take me next. God is Faithful!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

-Never apologize for being you-

Coming from a place of passion, experience, and healing, Je Taun Barron is a seasoned Author, Speaker, and the Founder/CEO of Perfectly Imperfect Foundation who aims to empower women and young girls to live life exactly how they should – unapologetically themselves. Expressing this within her recent publication ‘Hope for Women in Trial, Embracing All Seasons in Life,' Je fuels her readers with the notion that uniqueness should not be suppressed but celebrated. In addition, showcases just how powerful self-acceptance is when it comes to healing from the past, transforming pain into purpose, and was designed to act as a core reminder that God made you exactly the way you are for a reason…and you best bet that is more than enough.

A wife and mother of three amazing children, Je’s advocacy for spreading body positivity, self-love, and self-esteem for women and girls stems from a story of loss and a journey of finding God's linings among thickened clouds. Amid losing her father, Je turned to her faith and rested her confidence in both God and her father's ambiance of never losing hope. Now carrying this same message with her to form the Perfectly Imperfect Foundation and author her publications, Je has devoted her life to helping women and girls across the globe embrace the fluctuating seasons of life with grace, light, and love. Even more, to use that self-compassion as a stepping-stone to not just form healthier relationships with themselves but also stronger friendships, networks, and communities as a whole. That said, everyone is crafted in God's image perfectly imperfect; his love and healing are boundless on the heart, and sometimes unveiling begins with truly understanding that who you are is exactly who you are meant to be.

Overall, never forget the old yet wise saying that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. Blending this into her foundation and publications, Je inspires women and young girls to stop focusing on the external things they cannot control and begin paying attention to the internal things they can. This means allowing in God’s healing power and looking in the mirror to remind yourself how worthy and wonderful you are – flaws and all. Because if there is one thing for sure, everyone deserves to love themselves, find peace among trials, and manifest from surviving to generally living. But more importantly, doing so while recognizing that with the grace of God, your healing journey is something that you will never have to walk alone.
