DR. MEL'S MESSAGE - From my novels to my other projects, no telling what you will read. This is the only place you will get to read about how I developed a screenplay into a novel and what is the driving force. I will talk about many things from films to books to acting to producing. It really will depend on where my mind takes me. I hope you will join me on this journey.
Things from the past find their way back to the surface and the dead might not be so dead after all.
I am still numb after my mother's passing but I know I am in good hands and so is she. Funny thing is that I picked up the phone today to call her and to ask how she was doing. Of course, before I could finish dialing, I hung up and took a deep breath. I knew how she was doing; she's in Heaven dancing with my dad, brother, and sister. It was a long battle for her dealing with cancer and I rejoice that she is out of pain. Again, thank you everyone for the emails and phone calls. I'm going to get through this. Please keep my family in your prayers as we complete the arrangements for her funeral.
This brings me to the author interview for today. Wow! I shouldn't ever be surprised when the universe lines up for me. My next author is A.G.R. Goff and the book, "Layers." It is a total break for me as I can delve into something to keep my mind occupied. I can't wait for y'all to meet Goff and learn about the book.
Letting Miranda into his house is a big mistake. But aging comedian Dave also has some secrets. Maybe she should never have come looking for answers. As this story about murder, betrayal and dark desires unfolds, things take an unsuspected turn. Things from the past find their way back to the surface and the dead might not be so dead after all.
I grew up in East Germany. As a teenager, I witnessed the
uprising in Leipzig, which ultimately led to the fall of the Berlin Wall in
1989. I always wrote stories but it wasn’t until I met my English (future)
husband and moved to the UK, that I fell in love with the English language and
finished my first book.
When you’re not writing, what kinds of books
are you reading?
Horror, mainly Stephen King, when I grew up, but now I read
anything I can get my hands on. I read across genres and authors all the time.
Right now, I read works from various indie authors and give reviews.
What was the inspiration for your Layers?
Watching Harry Potter and
comparing it with the books I’ve read. I was fascinated by Snape and how he was
described in the books but played by a much older actor in the movies. That’s
how I discovered Alan Rickman and he gave me the inspiration for Layers.
