Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

Well, my name is Latanya "Epiphany" Richardson. Some call me Epiphany Tanya. I am a wife, mother of one, former Trauma Therapist, and of course, author. My life could be summed up with the title "Miracle Story." I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. I grew up in a place called North Philly. North Philly is probably one of the roughest, poorest, ghettos. Growing up, I was told I would never amount to anything. At first, those words led me down a pretty dark path for the first half of my life. Then when I was 21 while sitting in my room, I had this spiritual awakening of sorts. It's where my name Epiphany came from. I literally had this huge epiphany and paradigm shift. Jesus Christ completely changed my life. Christ inspired really inspired me to go on and write five books (with more set to come). My story and books have made a huge impact until I have been featured on radio and in several magazines. I was also nominated and won awards for my ability to inspire others. Despite some of the atrocities I've witnessed and experienced, I still know that with God, all things are possible. My latest book, Gods Diamonds was written to inspire others that they, too, are God's diamonds meant to shine for the King. Helping and inspiring others is my passion. I am also a podcaster.  I now reside in the Tampa Florida area. Also I have a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University and a Masters in School & Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pa. I support commissions to end issues such as Domestic Violence, child abuse, sexual assault, sex trafficking and homelessness. I have several groups on social media that support these initiatives.

My podcast can be found at http://anchor.fm/epiphany-tanya.

I am also a Goodreads Author at Goodreads.com/author/show/4884239

I also run a business www.epiphanyconsultingworks.com which helps other authors write, publish, market, and promote their books. I love writing and preaching.

What inspired you to author this book?

In the book, I write about an abusive relationship I was in a few years back. It wasn't physically abusive but more verbally, emotionally so. It was during one of these verbal abuse moments that I heard God's spirit whisper in my ear, "You are my diamond." I know some people struggle with hearing some of us who are spiritual and of faith say "We heard from God," but those words totally helped me through that situation and to eventually get out. It was last year around this time that I felt led and inspired, realizing that others like me may battle with self-esteem and need to know who they are.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book's cover?

The book cover was pretty self-explanatory, or so you would think. However, I went through quite a few designs before landing on that one. It reminds me of looking at the globe from outer space if it was covered in diamonds. I feel its representative of the message of the book. It's like God has sprinkled diamonds over the earth from the sky. I wanted a lot of diamonds on the cover to show I wasn't just talking about myself in the book, but I understand that God has many that are His diamonds.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

Definitely my faith in Jesus Christ, but outside of my faith, I would say severe pain and trauma. There is a scripture in the bible that talks about God giving His children beauty for ashes. I love this idea that God will take our hurts, pain, past sins, losses, and all these bad things to turn around to use them for good. Not just any good but specifically our own good. Here I was going through unbelievable pain and trauma in my life, but God blessed me with a completely new and different life when I came to Him.

Tell your readers about your book.

God's Diamonds is a very unique rare find book. I don't know of any other book on the market that examines diamonds from this lens or viewpoint. This book answers the why for those of us who have experienced and endured extreme pain, obstacles, or had to overcome some significant challenges. Just like heat and pressure produced the diamond, pressure and heat of your individual trial, storm, or test is aiming and seeking to do the same. Many go through life and end up experiencing so much adversity. Many who suffer don't fully understand God's hand in these matters. We often hear the question, "Why does God let bad things happen to good people?" God's Diamonds will help you understand.

Who is your target audience, and why?

Mostly Christian Women 18 and up, but I truly believe my books have the absolute ability to reach far beyond the walls of the church. My stories in all of my books are relatable. I like to say that pain is the great equalizer. My goal is to reach any who are lost and hurting. My books will inspire, restore and bring them hope.

What do you consider your greatest success in life?

Giving my life to Christ and graduating from an Ivy League school and Masters Program after dropping out in the 10th grade. It's why I know that with God, all things are possible. The one who they said would never amount to anything has accomplished more than dreamed.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?

My honesty and writing from the heart. I try to meet and reach my reader, where he or she is. I also have the ability to transport people through my books. You will feel like you are in the room when certain things are happening. You also will have a unique spiritual experience when you read any of my books. It will touch and impact your life. You will feel the power and presence of God in my books.
