From the Author
As I put the stories together for this collection, I actually relived in my memories events that took place in my life at these locations. Oh, not the events embellished to produce the tales, my life would have been pure chaos if that were so. But the stores and parks (some which I still visit this day), fishing trips with my now departed father. Writing these nine novelettes brought out the younger me, the 22-year-old bursting with the energy that led me to adventures all over South Holston Mountain, Lake, and River. For the names and personalities of my characters, I simply combined my friends' names and mixed & matched first and last. The businesses are real; I visit most at some point each week. During the midpoint of the writing of this gathering of tales, I took a three-month hiatus from writing as I was going through the processes of getting a first and then second liver transplant in the course of twelve days. My recovery in the first two months after the final surgery was enough to allow me to go back to work... And writing. So sometime around September, it all went to the publisher, Tree District Books for the final edits, and a release date. And, this, my friend, is the compilation that you'll be reading soon if you purchase the book. Thank you, reader, and enjoy the tales!!!
