What
inspired you to author this book?
My heart was broken the first time I heard that over 15 million
people had filed for unemployment in a matter of weeks. As time progressed and
more people were furloughed or unemployed, I felt I needed to do something to
encourage those affected by the pandemic. So I decided to write a book to
encourage the job seeker.
Where did you get the inspiration for
your book's cover?
The book cover is simple, and it emphasizes the world JOB....because
this is what the reader is in search of.
Who has been the most significant
influence on you personally and as a writer?
My most significant influence as a writer is my mentor Eula
Turner. She encouraged me to write daily and she encouraged me to focus on
getting my book done urgently. I was able to complete the writing of the
manuscript in 3 weeks. She encouraged me to find an editor to edit the book in
sections as I wrote it. This type of writing sped up the process of getting the
book published. I would not have completed this book so quickly without Eula. I
thank God for people like Eula, who are not afraid to push fellow writers to
create and get their works published.
Another indirect influence is the author of How to Self-Publish a Book on Amazon.com Chris McMullen.

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get
this book written?
My biggest struggle is time. This is my first project, and I
wanted to publish the book before the COVID-19 pandemic is over. So I rushed in
writing the book, and I published the book myself on Amazon. This was a
struggle because I had never published an eBook or a printed book before. This
is all a learning process for me. But now, I am happy to say that I am a
published author.
Tell your readers about your book.
My book is written for the person in career transition who wants
to communicate with the Creator about their current situation. This book has 21
bible-based prayers that help the reader express themselves while alone with
God. There are prayers about the emotions of the job seeker, the status of the
job seeker, and the process of searching for a job. If you need encouragement
during your job search, this is the ideal source.
Who is your target audience, and why?
My target audience is professionals who are in career
transition. The age of the target reader is between 18 and 55. The gender of
the target reader does not matter. However, 60% of the readers of my blog are
women.
What do you consider your greatest success in life?
My greatest success in life is telling my story. I have been
blessed to have a career, then hit rock bottom in my personal and career life
and then recover and flourish. Telling about the journey in my career has
helped thousands of people. I have an average of 2000 users visit my site on a
monthly basis. I know that my story has inspired countless job seekers to
continue the path to their dream job.
What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your
genre?
I am the real deal, baby. The ideas in my book are from my
experiences. I have prayed the prayers in my book. I am not only writing about
career success as just an author but also from my personal experience. I know
what it takes to fill out countless job applications. I know what it is like to
scan the job boards daily. I know what it is like to seek out connections and
reach out to friends and past coworkers looking for work. I have been in a
situation of waiting for a response from employers, and I have experienced job
search silence. But most of all, I know what it feels like to have God guide me
into the next position with ease. I also know what it feels like to have favor
with the hiring manager. I know how it feels to win that dream job with a
signing bonus! Been there, done that got the T-shirt.
