DR. MEL'S MESSAGE - From my novels to my other projects, no telling what you will read. This is the only place you will get to read about how I developed a screenplay into a novel and what is the driving force. I will talk about many things from films to books to acting to producing. It really will depend on where my mind takes me. I hope you will join me on this journey.
My readers who need a boost in their lives and who struggle with addiction and the pain of unhealthy relationships will benefit from the Book of the day, "Remade: Living Free," by Nicole Byrum. Take a look.
For anyone who has experienced the depths of addiction or the pain of unhealthy relationships, this book was written for you. As a therapist of 13 years I have spent countless hours listening to stories and struggles of substance use and pain. As a follower of Jesus, I wanted to write a book centered on the biblical truths of common struggles experienced by those in recovery. Topics explored in this book include: Guilt and Shame, God as our Father and Healer, Friendship, Perseverance, Purpose, The Importance of Not Compromising, and How to Live Abundantly. While I wrote this book with a specific population in mind, the more I wrote the more I realized this is a book for anyone who desires to know more of God. I invite you to open the pages found here; for within them lies everything I could ever hope for you to know about living in true freedom.
This book may be centered around addiction and recovery, but it is not limited to readers in those circumstances. It is packed full of insight on parenting, marriage, friendship, personal growth, the faith walk, contentment, etc. It's a wonderful book that will not only encourage you but also challenge you in the best ways. I personally like the reflection questions at the end of each chapter. I think those help the reader get the greatest benefits of what they've just read by applying it to their own personal life.
Recently, on a friend’s recommendation, I read Chapter 7 (No Compromising: A Tale of the Israelites) from the book “Remade: Living Free”. What a pleasure! The author draws on both on her experience as a seasoned therapist at a community center, and as a Christian. You can tell her faith is rock solid and has great depth. She writes in a easy-to-read, engaging style that is refreshingly candid. Would recommend to anyone searching to deepen their faith and improve their life. Looking forward to reading more.
I read this from the framework of a lifelong Christian and was refreshed by how I’ve been remade in Christ to live a life of freedom. Nicole’s style of writing infused with the verses from God’s Word and lyrics from 🎶, was an easy read! And knowing Nicole, it was like I was listening to her as she shared her thoughts and encouragement! So appreciative of the time and talent Nicole put into this writing 😘
