Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.

I am a wife (married for 18 years) and mother of four children ages 16, 12, 11, and 8. I grew up in the Olney section of Philadelphia, PA and attended the Philadelphia High School For Girls as well as Chestnut Hill college. As a child I was always entrepreneurial and started my first business in elementary school at the age of 8 where I sold candy to my classmates and teachers for several months until it landed me in the principal’s office. I am a woman of faith and have been a licensed minister since the age of 14 and currently serve as an ordained Elder at my church Pathway Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia, PA . I have found great success and fulfillment by using biblical principles to maintain and grow my businesses. A near death experience in 2008 at the age of 25 led me to dust off my real license and really focus on real estate as a full-time career and business. After the birth of my oldest daughter I went into heart failure and was diagnosed with postpartum cardiomyopathy. This caused me to need a job that would allow me to take care of myself or take a break on "bad heart days" when I felt exhausted, short of breath, or drained. I have been able to turn that decision into multiple real estate businesses while also helping other real estate agents and investors create real estate businesses that provide them with purposeful, spiritual, and financial freedom and the lifestyles they desire.

What inspired you to author this book?

My book is 2% about me and 98% about the reader. Although I do share my story in the beginning of the book and my advice throughout, the main content is to help the reader recognize their purpose and help them make a plan that best fits their skillset and personality. This book helps them recognize that they real estate goals are achievable while helping them pivot to the daily activities that will help them make those goals a reality. Ultimately, I want to help and inspire others.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?

My cover was a challenge to say the least. I do not like taking pictures and after completing a photoshoot for the book I did not see one picture that I truly loved for the cover. So I decided to hire an illustrator and provided them with my 3 favorite pictures of myself. They were able to combine them and create an illustration that I loved and used for the cover.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

I will provide this to you

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

It's funny to say but the truth is my biggest struggle that I had to overcome to get the book written was actually writing. I do not think that non-authors really appreciate how difficult writing is and how much writing is necessary to complete a project. I am no author; I am a real estate professional so I had to literally schedule time to just write. If it was not for the quarantine due to COVID-19 I am not sure that I would have had the time to really stop my life and business to finish this book.

Tell your readers about your book.

My journey in real estate has not been an easy one, but it has definitely been worth it. My overall goal is to help people especially women use real estate to fund their purpose and their bank accounts which will take the limits off of their faith and income. There is no glass ceiling in real estate and with the right foundation and support you can have the money and lifestyle you desire. I am including my synopsis as well as the intro to my book which shares my journey into real estate.

Who is your target audience, and why?

My book is targeted to women who are interested in starting or relaunching a career or business as a real estate agent. Although it is targeted towards women it is helpful for men as well.

What do you consider your greatest success in life?

My greatest success in life has nothing to do with my business or book. It is the life and family that I have built with my husband and children which is all centered around our Christian faith and biblical principles. Neither my husband or I come from two family homes, but we were able to create that for our children, a life that includes God, church, and an emphasis on character and not money. They are my greatest success and it is not based on what they achieve (although they are each smart and talented in their own right). More importantly it is the fact that they are kind, helpful, thoughtful individuals who understand that how they act, what they give, and how they make other people feel is more important than what they achieve and what they receive.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?

There are many real estate books written by wonderful successful authors most of these books fall into two categories (some fall into both): 1. Authors who have not struggled as real estate agents (or at least they do not admit it). They only share their success and success tips never taking into account that the person reading the book is not there yet and cannot even receive the information until they improve/reset their mindset. 2. Many books are focused on earning millions of dollars as a real estate agent and skips over the foundation needed to build a successful career or business. The basics build a foundation that can take the agent to a whatever heights they imagine but without establishing the basics first the agent will never truly reach success. My book shares my struggles right upfront so the reader can understand that this was no "get rich quick" or overnight success story. I struggled and figured things out and now I help other agents who are struggling but are committed to making the necessary changes to position themselves correctly and reach the success they desire. There is no fluff in my book, just direct answers, strategies, and checklists.
