What inspired you to author this book?

After the world's largest work from home experiment started, it was clear a guide on online communications was necessary for many. With over ten years of experience in the online communications industry, I have a unique understanding of the power of online communications I wanted to share. During a time of considerable uncertainty and economic downturn, video communications represent an opportunity for many.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book's cover?

My wife is an experienced graphic designer. I am colorblind. So we agreed on the cover, which was simple, colorful, and inspiring.

Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?

This book draws upon Joseph Pine's "Experience Economy," Jonah Berger's "Invisible Influence," Morten Hansen's "Collaboration!," and Malcolm Gladwell's "Tipping Point" to apply research of these top business authors, sharing their insights.

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?

Timing was a struggle because I wanted to get this information out to the world as quickly as possible. Therefore, I had to limit the amount of technical software review chapters down to 5. Within the last few weeks, Google and Facebook had made HUGE announcements about their software solutions for video conferencing in response to Zoom's growth. So, I added a chapter for Facebook Rooms and modified the Google chapters with information that had literally only be announced days before.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?

There are few writers who has 10+ years in the online communications industry. I host a weekly show on StreamGeeks every Monday at 2PM EST 11AM PST which offers our community a great opportunity to interact with others and ask questions live. Our online community is growing every week and readers can jump from the pages in this book, into an online, and eventually an active online community of like-minded individuals. I really enjoy seeing technology newbies, have breakthrough moments, start asking the right questions, and suddenly realize the StreamGeeks have a tutorial video series that will take them through the journey they are just beginning to understand. Our team has hundreds of YouTube videos, millions of views, and now seven books with 20+ online courses. All of this is great, but more importantly, our team is passionate about pushing the industry forward. How many authors have a grass-roots community that is open and ready to enhance learning in real-time?
