A couple of days ago, I introduced you to the BOOK OF THE DAY called Perfidious Agenda by Lachelle Williams. Today you get to read the interview I did with her. But, first, about the book.
Perfidious Agenda is about a young, Christian girl
named Angel who was sheltered growing up. Once she goes to college she wants to
experience adult things and fit in with her sexually active friends. She begins
to struggle with pleasing her mother and abiding by The Bible rules while fighting
temptation. As she continues her journey through maturity, unbeknownst to her
she became a victim of circumstance. She soon finds out that no one is who they
seem to be, nor can anyone be trusted.

Tell your readers a little about
yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc.
Let them get to know the personal you.
I was
raised and attended school in Des Moines, IA. At the age of 15, my family
relocated to Burnsville, MN, where I graduated High School.
I am a
Medical Professional working in the Research Department that is trying to find
a cure for all cancers.
I currently
reside in the Metropolitan area of Atlanta, GA, with my spouse and children. I
enjoy Mexican food, traveling, spending time playing games with my family, and
feeding the homeless.
Where did you get the inspiration for
your book’s cover?
Although being in love is a beautiful thing, it can also
be heartbreaking. The cover represents how love can cause pain.
Who has been the most significant
influence on you personally and as a writer?
Personally, my parents. They both worked hard to
provide for our family. Like myself, I witnessed my father work two jobs, not
because he had to but because he needed to get extra money to reach a goal,
which was starting his own business.
A friend and two of my daughters kept me inspired to
keep writing.
What were your struggles or obstacles
you had to overcome to get this book written?
Working six days at a full-time and part-time job
for 60 plus hours a week, and still trying to spend quality time with my loved
ones. I was exhausted during the year it took me to write, but I needed extra
money to help this book come alive.

If you were going to give one reason for
anyone looking at your book to read, why should they buy it?
Perfidious Agenda is relatable even if it is not a
person’s preference of genre to read. It is relatable because everyone has been
in love, heartbroken, had sex, lied, said some type of explicit word or words, kept
secrets, wanted to be a part of something, laughed, cried, experienced some
type of trauma, tried something they should not have, and so many other things
that this book touches on.
What do you consider your greatest
success in life?
I finally published this book, which I started back in
2008. I wrote a paragraph but I wasn’t committed. I am proud of myself, not to
mention the only Author in my family.
What one unique thing sets you apart
from other writers in your genre?
I did not write a book that strictly focused on
romance, erotica, suspense, or drama. My book is a combination of all, along
with life situations and a splash of humor.
How do you overcome writer’s block?
I took a break for a day up to a week to clear my
mind.
What one piece of advice do you have for
new authors?
I have
several pieces of advice. To name a few; write down any ideas that come to
mind, have a person or two read your work to make sure your story flows well,
do a lot of research, don’t rush, and most importantly, don’t give up.
Tell your readers anything else you want
to share.
I hope you enjoy the book.
